The seminar series, “Mathematics for Systems Biology” will be hosted by Joint Theory Institute and Computation Institute, University of Chicago and Argonne National Laboratory. The aim of the proposed seminar series is to establish an inter-disciplinary dialog between the biological community and scientists involved in other systems disciplines, stimulating collaborative efforts addressing challenging problems in systems biology.
Systems biology requires powerful mathematical approaches for analysis and modeling of the remarkable complexity of living organisms. Successes achieved by systems sciences in modeling of physical, social and other systems phenomena encouraged us to propose a series of inter-disciplinary seminars to explore the application of complex systems theory utilized by these sciences to systems biology. more..
